Because we strive for the best in all areas, we have very high expectations of ourselves and our partners. Adhering to strict standards and independent certification by globally recognised testing authorities guarantees our customers consistently high product quality and provides good, fair working conditions for everyone involved.
Supplier audits
Every supplier needs to submit an application to us and satisfy certain prerequisites. Additionally, all regular partners are routinely audited and monitored to ensure they comply with our required criteria.
GermanFashion
GermanFashion Modeverband Deutschland e. V. represents the German fashion industry and the interests of its approximately 350 members.
The association supports its member companies on all sector-specific issues and represents their interests vis-à-vis legislators, public agencies, market players and other organisations.
BEPI
Amfori BEPI was established in 2013 and monitors 11 environmental performance areas, ranging from energy consumption and greenhouse gases to management of chemicals. Its clear five-step approach allows companies to drive continuous improvement through supply chain mapping and analysis, improvement work and progress monitoring.
OEKO-TEX® Standard 100
This goes without saying for ATAIR and our partners. We work carefully to secure the annual certification so we can guarantee our customers flawless goods at any time.
GOTS
Processing textiles made from organically produced natural fibres is becoming increasingly significant for us, which is why we have trebled our range of GOTS items since 2016.
BSCI
BSCI is a platform for improving social standards in a global value creation chain. The organisation, which is headquartered in Brussels, supports commercial businesses in adopting or referencing a code of conduct as well as a systematic monitoring and qualification system. The BSCI approach consists of compliance with the code, the involvement and protection of employees, supply chain management and cascade effects as well as a grievance mechanism.
As a certified company we undertake to inform employees of their rights, comply with the BSCI principles and influence other business partners and also provide a system for complaints and suggestions.
GRS
The GRS is intended to meet the needs of companies looking to verify the recycled content of their products (both finished and intermediate) and to ensure responsible social, environmental and chemical practices in their production. The goal of the GRS is to define requirements both for the correct specification of substances and materials used and for proper working conditions. Furthermore, the GRS strives to minimise environmental and chemical risks. This includes companies involved in ginning, spinning, weaving, knitting, dyeing, printing and stitching.
Partnership for Sustainable Textiles
To improve the social and environmental conditions in textile production around the world, the German Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, Dr Gerd Müller, founded the Partnership for Sustainable Textiles in October 2014. Businesses, associations, trade unions, standards organisations, the German government and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) work together to improve conditions in textile factories – from the production of raw materials to the disposal of textiles. This is accomplished by conducting joint projects on the ground and by each member assuming their respective responsibilities, and it encompasses a wide range of areas of activity and issues. Organic Content Standard (OCS)
The Organic Content Standard (OCS) applies to any non-food product containing 95-100 percent organic material. It verifies the presence and amount of organic material in a final product and tracks the flow of the raw material from its source to the final product.
The OCS 100 relies on third-party verification to confirm whether a final product contains the accurate amount of a given organically grown material. OCS allows for transparent, consistent, and comprehensive independent evaluation and verification of organic material content claims on products. OCS 100 covers the processing, manufacturing, packaging, labelling, trading, and distribution of a product that contains at least 95 percent certified ‘organic’ materials.
Textile Association
The Verband der Nordwestdeutschen Textil- und Bekleidungsindustrie e. V. (Association of the North-Western German Textile and Clothing Industry) is the employers’ and business association for around 240 companies in Westphalia, Lower Saxony, Schleswig-Holstein, Bremen and Hamburg. The member companies employ around 26,500 people in Germany.
Social engagement
Companies are part of society and should therefore demonstrate responsibility for it. We contribute to a more just and equitable society by implementing diverse initiatives for our employees and by adhering to important international guidelines.
Social responsibility
For many years we have been subcontracting work to the disabled people’s workshops at the Antonius-Haus. There people with disabilities help us to complete finishing orders and thus to deliver the right products to our customers at the right time.
Donations
We donate to good causes! During the Christmas season, we run our fundraising campaign for Aktion Lichtblicke e.V. Amounts in the four-digit range are regularly collected here.
In the ‘ATAIR stays fit’ challenge, 50 cents are donated to two associations for every kilometre run/walked by all employees participating in the campaign. With a pool of organisations to choose from, our employees vote for the associations that they wish to support. This year, the ‘Herzenswünsche’ (Heart’s Desires) campaign took first place, receiving 60% of the euros earned/hiked, with 40% going to the runner-up, the Steinfurter Tafel (Steinfurt Food Bank).
Sponsoring
We sponsor regional sports clubs to promote the link between sport and young people.
Human rights
People are at the forefront of everything we do. To protect them and prevent human rights violations in global supply and value chains, we are committed to respecting the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. You can find our Declaration of Principles on Human Rights here.
Taster days
We frequently offer schoolchildren the opportunity to experience working life at ATAIR. This enables them to make contacts within the company, for example for internships, at an early stage.
Training places
We provide training! ATAIR has been a recognised training company for many years.
Diversity
Diversity is essential to creating a vibrant work environment, especially when it comes to employee commitment. Diversity in the workplace fosters creativity and innovation because each team member brings different backgrounds, perspectives and experience to the table. These unique perspectives have a major impact on our company and our workforce. The interplay of different cultures, genders and generations is part of everyday life at our production facilities. We consciously rely on the diversity of our team because their wealth of experience, perspectives and skills forms the basis of our success.
Employee concerns
We take the concerns and needs of our employees very seriously. Worker complaints can be submitted anonymously to the dedicated email address csr@atair.de – for example to report violations of our Social Code of Conduct (SCoC).
E-Bikes
To ensure that our employees remain mobile and healthy, they all have the option to lease up to two e-bikes, including for private use.
Training courses / seminars
Training courses and seminars are a firm part of our HR policy. All employees have the opportunity both to consolidate existing knowledge and learn new things. At their annual feedback meetings, employees discuss which potential courses or seminars may be of interest.
